Matthew 28:18-20 – “18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen  

 

General Objective: Emphasize the "Great Commission's" three-fold objective:

1. Teaching and baptizing the lost,

2. Teaching the saved to obey God's commandments, and

3. Teaching and demonstrating to the saved their major responsibility to carry out the
    "Great Commission." (Matt. 28:18-20)

 

1: Encourage the heads of the following activities to make prospective Bible study contacts:

1. Education Department

2. Benevolence

3. Senior Citizens

4. Middlers

5. Singles

6. Youth Group

7. Ladies Activities

8. Technology Ministry

 

2: Teach, baptize, and teach them to teach others through: 1. Classes provided by the Education Department

2. Home Bible studies setup during evangelism efforts

3. Sermons

4. Bulletin articles

5. Visits, phone calls, and other encouragement

3: Teach and demonstrate to the saved that their major responsibility to God is to carry out the "Great Commission." Evangelism leaders:

1. Cooperate with the Education Department in the teaching of classes at the church building:

a. "New Converts Class" that emphasizes the "Great Commission"

b. Class for potential elders and deacons emphasizing the "Great Commission"

2. Conduct or assist in the home Bible studies set up under number 2.

3. Involve the new converts in setting up and conducting home Bible studies. Use the example of Paul in training and working with them.

 

Methods, means and material to facilitate numbers 1, 2, and 3:

1. Produce or purchase evangelism materials and equipment.

2. Follow up on visitors to our services, fellowships and special activities.

3. Present a monthly report to the men's scheduled business meeting on the fourth Sunday of each month concerning our efforts to meet our aims and the results.
