Congregations of churches of Christ are autonomous; i.e. they do
not have a centralized governing body on this earth beyond the local body.
However, as the New Testament scriptures teach, local congregations have elders
who shepherd or oversee the flock at the local level (Acts 20:28). Deacons
in the Lord's church are also appointed to carry out the many tasks that are
involved in effective ministry. In addition, preachers, evangelists, or
ministers may be employed to assist in the teaching and evangelism efforts of
the congregation. Summit is blessed with men who are qualified and willing
to serve in each of these capacities. Click on each of the above links to see the names and pictures of the men serving the Summit congregation. |
