| Congregations of churches of Christ are autonomous; i.e. they do not have a centralized governing body on this earth beyond the local body. However, as the New Testament scriptures teach, local congregations have elders who shepherd or oversee the flock at the local level (Acts 20:28). In addition, deacons in the Lord's church are appointed to carry out the many tasks that are involved in effective ministry. Summit is blessed with eight men who are qualified and willing to serve in this capacity. | ||
