In any
organization the strength of the organization is typically comparable to that of
its leadership. This is especially true in the church. God has established a
governance system for the local congregation -- elders and deacons. Summit has
always sought ways to develop its members for leadership roles; this includes
long-term development of our young people.
The works of
leadership development are:
1.
Identify men who have the potential and the qualifications for leadership and
provide
meaningful assignments to assist them in their spiritual development.
2. Appoint elders and deacons as men qualify.
3. Encourage all Christians to assume teaching and other leadership roles as
soon as they
are willing to try.
4. Conduct men’s retreat for the purpose of long-range planning.
