Mark 9:41 -
"For whoever gives you a cup of water
to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he
will by no means lose his reward."
The Summit congregation owns more
than 11
acres plus a building which seats approximately 400 persons for worship and
classroom space for Bible studies. This property is worth in the
millions. It is easy to see that the property is
very extensive and requires a great deal of maintenance in order to preserve its
value and to make it effective for God's work. The building is much
more than a personal residence; for example, six furnaces and air conditioners
are required to heat and cool this building. Over the years, the
congregation has been blessed with persons who have talents in building and
grounds maintenance and improvement. This has saved the congregation thousands of dollars
in terms of maintenance and improvement. However, the cost of materials and supplies is
extensive. Needless to say, though, all of these efforts and costs are
miniscule when we compare them to the value of a soul; we gladly spend this time
and money to spread the gospel in this community.
The goals for the
buildings and grounds efforts at Summit are:
1. Maintain buildings
and grounds as needed
2. Conduct at least two workdays for needed work on the buildings
and grounds.
3. Resurface and
repair the parking lot.
4. Maintain the cleaning of the building.
