Ministry Leader: Sam Scalf
James 2:14-16
- "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith
but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked
and destitute of daily food, and some of you says to them, 'Depart in peace, be
warmed and filled,' but you do not give them the things which are needed for the
body, what does it profit?"
The family at
Summit believes wholeheartedly that we must practice what James instructed us to
do. We do this cheerfully as we know that God loves a cheerful giver. Therefore,
the following works for our Benevolence Ministry are:
1. Provide
clothing through purchase or donation for the clothing storeroom.
2. Provide cash, food, rent or fuel to qualified persons who need temporary and
emergency help.
3. Continue supporting the disaster relief program operated by the churches of
Christ.
4. Continue supporting the Potter Orphan Home.
5. Continue supporting the Midwestern Children's Home.
6. Send flowers to the bereaved and ill of the congregation.
7. Provide food to the bereaved and ill as needed.
