My Bible Reading Schedule for March 25

Judges Chapters 14, 15, 16

Overview of Chapters 14, 15 and 16:  Samson married a Philistine woman who later betrayed him. He became angry and left her; when he attempted to visit her later, her father refused to allow him in. He became very angry and caught 300 foxes, tied them tail to tail and put a torch between each pair's tail. The foxes ran through the fields and burned all the crops. Later, Samson married Delilah who also betrayed him by asking how his strength could be diminished. After lying to her several times, he gave her the secret; the Philistines then were then able to overcome him and gouged out his eyes. He prayed that God would give him enough strength to destroy the building where he was standing. God answered his request; as a result, he and about three thousand people were killed -- more than all those he had killed during his life.     (Overview for this reading compliments of Gene Harlow)
