My Bible Reading Schedule for March 21

Judges Chapters 4, 5, 6

Overview of Chapters 4, 5, and 6:  The Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, so the LORD sold them into the hand of the king of Canaan, who oppressed them for 20 years. At this point the Israelites cried out to the LORD for help; Deborah, a prophetess, was judging Israel and under her leadership the strength of the children of Israel began to grow until finally Jabin, king of Canaan was destroyed. In chapter 5 we find the song of victory that praises God for his triumph over the Canaanites. Once again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord and they were delivered into the hands of the Midianites who began the practice of burning, looting, and leaving many near starvation. Gideon then became God's choice as the next leader of the Israelites.     (Overview for this reading compliments of Gene Harlow)
