My Bible Reading Schedule for March 18

Joshua Chapters 21, 22

Overview of Chapters 21 and 22:  The Levites came to Joshua and demanded towns to live in, along with pasture lands. This was done and those towns are listed by name. They received a total of forty eight towns along with their pasture lands. Joshua commended the Reubenites, Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh for being faithful to their instructions. Because of this, they are sent to their land on the other side of the Jordan. There they built a large altar. The Israelites considered the altar a rebellion against the Lord and decided to make war against them. The tribes denied they had rebelled against the Lord and this was accepted by the Israelites. The other one-half tribe of Manasseh was given a possession in Bashan.    (Overview for this reading compliments of Gene Harlow)
