My Bible Reading Schedule for March 12

Joshua Chapters 5, 6, 7

Overview of Chapters 5, 6, and 7:   The children of Israel that came out of Egypt wandered in the wilderness until they all died. However, their children, who were born in the wilderness, survived and Joshua was told by God to circumcise them. They then began to eat of the crops of the land and the manna God had been giving them was stopped. The Lord then gave Joshua instructions that if followed, would cause the walls of Jericho to collapse and permit the children of Israel to go in. The city of Jericho was then destroyed along with its people. The only things saved were some precious metals etc. As was promised, Rahab and her family were spared. Some of the sons of Israel then disobeyed the Lord and took some of the things banned. Achan with his family and possessions were later stoned and cremated.   (Overview for this reading compliments of Gene Harlow)
