My Bible Reading Schedule for April 7
I Samuel Chapters 28, 29, 30, 31
Overview of Chapters 28, 29, 30, and 31: The Philistines again attack Israel, and Saul asks God for guidance. God did not answer; therefore, Saul asked a spiritist to bring Samuel to him. Samuel told Saul that he would be defeated and would lose his life. In the meantime, the Philistines did not want David fighting for them; therefore, he and his men returned home and fought and destroyed the Amalekites. Samuel's prophecy to Saul came to pass as we read Chapter 31. Knowing that his sons were killed and that he would soon be killed by the Philistines, Saul took his own life.
