I Samuel Chapters 21, 22, 23, 24

Overview of Chapters 21, 22, 23, and 24:  David flees to Ahimelech in Nob where Saul's head shepherd saw him. He then goes to Gath and later to the cave of Adullam. Saul learns of his visit to Ahimelech from the head shepherd and orders that Ahimelech and his family be killed along with all the people in Nob. David again goes to battle against the Philistines and was successful. Upon learning of this victory, Saul again pursues David from place to place. Saul finally located where David was hiding; David, though, crept up unnoticed and cut off the corner of Saul's robe. However, he did not harm Saul. Realizing that David had spared his life, Saul became very friendly with David and acknowledged that the kingdom of Israel would be established in his hands.
